High School Dunkers Can Win Spot in National Powerade Commercial

The Hoop Doctors just received word from the organizers of this year’s Powerade JamFest, the dunk contest at the McDonald’s High School All-American Game, that they are holding a special kind of contest to spark some dunk hype. If you are a high school baller with some hops you’ll want to enter this contest for a chance to win the great prize. The best dunk video submitted to the website listed below, will win a spot in a National Powerade Commercial!
From now until March 18, high-risers are encouraged to upload a video of their most innovative and powerful jam on the POWERADE Dunk DominatION4 page at http://www.takkle.com/powerade. The winning video will have a chance to be featured in a national POWERADE commercial during the 2009 POWERADE Jam Fest on March 30. If you’re unfamiliar with Jam Fest, it is a skills competition for the country’s top high school basketball players competing in the McDonald’s All-American Game.
Dunks will be judged by a panel of experts, including 2002 McDonald’s All-American Game alumnus and recent all-star Amar’e Stoudemire. Videos should be no longer than 20 seconds and will be judged by the following criteria:
50% Innovation
25% Power
25% Overall Appeal
The POWERADE Dunk Domination contest celebrates the introduction of the new POWERADE ION4, featuring four of the electrolytes lost in sweat. Most sports drinks contain only two electrolytes, but studies show that athletes lose more than that when they sweat. POWERADE ION4 contains four of the key electrolytes in the same ratio that they’re lost. No other sports drink does that.
