Dr. Dime’s NBA Top 10: Hustle Plays

October 20, 2008 – Dr. Dime
I don’t know about you, but I love player’s that show heart, determination, and grit. Especially when those players are star players that lead by example and get after it with passion. Everyone who played basketball at any level of competitiveness knows that coaches love a scrappy player. If you are currently unhappy with your level of P.T., there is no better way to get in your coaches good books then to hustle for every board, work for every stop, and dive for loose balls. In this edition of my Top 10’s, i’m bringing you video footage of some of my favorite NBA Hustle Plays.
1.Tayshaun Prince – Playoff Block on Reggie
2. James Worthy – Dive/Assist at Crucial Moment
3. Baron Davis – Steal then Dunk for Tie
4. Tyrus Thomas – Block then Dunk
5. Michael Jordan – Two handed block
6. Larry Bird – Steal then pass to D. Johnson
7. Ronny Turiaf – Two consecutive blocks then steal
8. Darrell Armstrong – Little man protecting the Hoop
9. Jamaal Tinsley – Dives into Stands
10. Shaquille O’Neal -Dive into stands against Spurs
Bonus – Shaquille O’Neal puts fear of dive into Suns Bench

That Shaq dive was hilarious. He was workin’ so hard to show his new team he was quick and nimble! hahah
agreed, that really deserves to be up there, but then again, many many players dive for the ball (even if they might fail), who’s to judge which should be in the top ten? also, though that James Worthy tap/assist was nice…he just lost his momentum basically >.>…
actually, one that should be thrown in is Chris Bosh’s score and then running the court to block Earl Watson’s layup attempt on a fast break
Hey jay you right. the shaq dive could have been anyone but it entertaining to see big fella land on people and crush them hahaha, he’s like 375 lbs
My favorite is definitely the Tyrus Thomas block then coast in for and1 dunk!! That was so sick. Statue of Liberty on his a%$ baby!!
Good read, thanks for the information, it was really informative.
@JAY
Good minds think alike I guess. I did consider that Bosh play, but unfortunately I couldn’t find a decent video clip of it. Was definitely a contender.
