February 16, 2012 – The Hoop Doctors
Last year, Blake Griffin headlined the dunk contest and that was enough to make it must-see TV. But he’s not interested this year and now this crop of participants makes it seem like dunk contest from the early 2000s again.
The Rockets will not be shut out of the All-Star weekend after all.
Forward Chase Budinger was named to participate in the Sprite Slam Dunk championship on Feb. 25.
He will compete with the Indiana Pacers’ Paul George, the New York Knicks’ Iman Shumpert, and the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Derrick Williams in Orlando.
The contest will have an abbreviated format in which each competitor will have three dunks each in one round.
