Gentlemen start your engines, the race to the bottom of the NBA standings is in full gear. Reports coming out of Phoenix Wednesday night indicate that Eric Bledsoe could be shut down for the remainder of the season.

It wasn’t announced until five minutes before game time Wednesday night that Bledsoe would not be starting in the game against the Kings in which the Suns lost 107-101.
This has got to be frustrating news for Bledsoe as he appears to be completely healthy and is having the best season of his career, averaging 21.1 points, 6.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game.
This move, although not the most honorable move in the spirit of competition, makes perfect sense for the Suns as they don’t want to lose ground in their lottery positioning by winning games and this affords more opportunity to promising rookie point guard Tyler Ulis to gain experience and prove his worth as a piece of the puzzle for the Suns moving forward.
The Suns currently hold the third highest lottery odds and are only two games behind (or ahead in this instance) in the win column than the Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers.
