It Sounds Like Stephen Curry Is Going to Be OK…Maybe

Stephen Curry
Looking for a cryptic update on the ankle injury that prevented Stephen Curry from participating in the Golden State Warriors’ Game 2 victory over the Houston Rockets?

Look no further.

Per Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated:

This is slightly comforting, yet still concerning.

Concrete updates aren’t being given, which, despite these pleasantly phrased non-updates, leaves us to assume the worst. Will Curry play in Game 3? Will he sit? Is this just a sprain? A bruise? General soreness? Or is it something bigger?

There aren’t a ton of ways to manipulate and re-spin the results of an MRI, so if the Warriors say it’s nothing to worry about, it’s probably nothing to worry about. But the anxiety surrounding his status, not just for this series against Houston but in general, won’t subside until he plays again. Rational or not, that’s just how it is.

If Stephen Curry plays in Game 3, all will be forgotten, with a collective sigh of relief emanating out of every Warriors fan in existence. If he doesn’t, the Warriors should still be fine, but speculation will spread like a forest fire, the worst being assumed and verbalized, then re-packaged through mass media and into the minds of worried Warriors loyalists. Case in point: It’ll get ugly. So while the bigger concern is Curry’s health overall, more distinct updates will soon become a must, if he misses Game 3, should the Warriors hope to avoid a larger issue.
