The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed shooting guard Nik Stauskas, who was traded three times and released last week. The deal is reportedly for the rest of the season.
On Feb. 4, the Trail Blazers traded Stauskas to the Cavs as part of a package for Rodney Hood. He never appeared in a game before Cleveland sent him two days later to the Rockets, who then traded Stauskas to Indiana. The Pacers subsequently released him opening the door for a return to the Cavaliers.
Stauskas averaged 6.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 44 games for the Trail Blazers. He has also played for Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Sacramento, which selected him with the No. 8 overall pick in 2014.
Through five seasons, he is averaging 6.9 points per game while shooting 34.9 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. As for Cleveland, they are 11-45 going into tonight’s game against the Knicks.
