Tristan Thompson Apparently Punched or Pushed Draymond Green at a Post-ESPY’s Party in LA

Tristan Thompson

It turns out Tristan Thompson isn’t over Draymond Green ignoring his olive branch after Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

While both players were at a post-ESPY’s party in LA hosted by LeBron James, Thompson apparently took the opportunity to punch or push or do something to Green. Here’s The Big Lead’s Jason McIntyre:

The Athletic’s Marcus Thompson than expounded upon the situation, painting it in a slightly more innocuous light:

Which is why everyone was stunned when Thompson, according to sources, out of nowhere attacked Green.

No argument. No squaring up. No taking it outside.

“It was a sucker punch,” said one source who attended the party. “But, to be honest, it wasn’t really a punch. It was more like a shove.”

It was a face mush, another source described it. Other reports have described it as a legit punch, maybe even a quick one-two.

The gossip website Bossip also posted details of this non-kerfuffle.

Whatever actually happened, both Draymond Green and Tristan Thompson apparently existed in something resembling harmony for the rest of the party. Kudos to Kevin Durant and LeBron for stepping in to deescalate the situation. Brawling at a post-ESPY’s party about something that happened more than a month ago is pretty pointless and childish and a good way to ruin everyone’s good time.

Granted, that won’t stop us from enjoying the two matchups between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors next season. Without James involved in these affairs, we lacked a real reason to watch. But by sucker punching/pushing/face mushing Green out of nowhere, Thompson has officially given us an incentive to tune in, at least for a little bit.
