I guess you could say Rajon Rondo is fully recovered from the sports hernia injury he suffered that caused him to miss the first month and a half of the season.
Rondo did something that hadn’t been done in the NBA in over 20 years on Wednesday night: record 25 assists in a single game.

Having two elite big men who dish the ball and can score in a variety of ways is a dream come true for Rondo, who is at his best when he is given the autonomy to completely guide an NBA offense and have the ball in his hands until he sets up a teammate or finds them in a position to score.
Here are a few more tweets that put Rondo’s unique performance in perspective…

Rondo is not the player he was three or five years ago as he has lost some of his quickness and burst that enabled him to get to the rim a little more and defend at a higher level, but he is still an elite passer and that showed in spades on Wednesday night against Brooklyn.
Rondo recorded his 9th game of 20 assists or more, which gives him more than twice as many of those performances than any other active player in the NBA.
Here is the list:
Rajon Rondo 9
Chris Paul 4
Darren Collison 1
John Wall 1
Ramon Sessions 1
Reggie Jackson 1
Russell Westbrook 1
I can’t believe I live in a world where Ramon Sessions got 20 assists in an NBA game.
Rondo and the Pelicans appear ready to take advantage of a weaker western conference and return to the playoffs in 2018.
