The Houston Rockets have been the best team in the NBA thus far this season. James Harden is playing at an MVP level once again and Chris Paul adds another layer of intensity and play-making to a team rife with shooters and guys who can fill up a stat sheet.
As good as the Rockets have been though, the juggernaut defending NBA Champions coming off of potentially the best season in NBA history still loom and almost nobody would call the Rockets a favorite against them if a seven game series started today.
Clint Capela disagrees.
This is what he told Dave Schilling of Bleacher Report:
“I expect to beat them.”
While as an athlete on a high-level you need to have that internal confidence personally and about your team, saying it publicly and that bluntly is a little bold. I am not sure you want to awaken the beast that is the Golden State Warriors.
I am sure this statement will be placed on the Warriors bulletin board and taken to heart by Kevin Durant (who takes everything to heart these days).
The Rockets do appear to be the biggest threat to the Warriors supremacy in the western conference, don’t forget about those pesky Spurs though…
