The Charlotte Hornets are 21-21, which is currently good enough for 7th in the Eastern Conference. The bulk of the credit for any success they’ve had this year is thanks to Kemba Walker, who is having a solid season.
Kemba is averaging 23ppg and has emerged as the franchise player in Charlotte. His year so far has been good enough to probably receive heavy consideration for an All-Star nod. But Kemba is more focused on winning games than making an All-Star team. (Well, at least, that’s what he said, anyway. Of course he’d like to make the team.)
Kemba, when asked if he should make the All-Star team…
“Not really, if you ask me,” Walker said. “Especially because of where my team is. But like I said, I really don’t care honestly.”
“We haven’t been doing a great job of winning consistently (so) the All-Star game is the last thing I’m going to think about right now.”
