Jabari Parker Benched for Violating Team Rules

At 20-23, the Bucks are currently 10th in the East. On paper, they definitely have what it takes to make the playoffs, but things have not been coming together for them.

Apparently, Jabari Parker is frustrated by the team underachieving and decided to do something about it. Parker reportedly spoke up and voiced his frustration in front of the players and coaches, citing the team’s “lack of togetherness.” Then after that, he decided to say it to the media, which didn’t go over well with team brass, because he came off the bench in Saturday’s road loss to Miami for “violating a team rule that prohibits disclosing locker room discourse to the media.”

Afterward, in his postgame media address, Parker confirmed there was a team meeting and disclosed what the organization regarded as private, locker room dialogue.

“I spoke up for the first time, and it didn’t go my way,” Parker said to the media. “I was getting thrashed, but hey, as long as I give them another perspective, I did my job.”

Parker’s teammates deliberated and decided the appropriate punishment for the violation was to bring him off the bench against the Heat, league sources told ESPN. It was the first time this season that he did not start.
