The criticism aimed towards Kevin Durant will ultimately pass. It may take a few years, but people will eventually get over it. But that doesn’t make his move any less egregious. Durant is no doubt tired of talking about his new team and the one he left behind. He’d much rather talk about Team USA, the Olympics…anything else.
Perhaps his frustrations with the questions came to a head when he dismissed concerns about a potential hit to his legacy. This is classic KD and is the type of response we were waiting for.
Durant’s most poignant statement of the day may have been his very last. Having answered every inquiry that came his way, he rose from his chair with a smile and said, “Who’s going to give a (expletive) when I’m 49 years old?”
