The Clippers and Nuggets discussed deal to trade Blake Griffin, according to Mitch Lawrence of the Sporting News:

According to Lawrence, the Clippers and Nuggets spoke about a potential deal and the Nuggets front office is in the process of putting together a package of assets to acquire Griffin, but are leery of Griffin not re-signing with them in 2018.
The report doesn’t list any potential assets in a prospective deal but here are a few trades that would work within the cap and make some sense:
The first scenario seems to be the most realistic unless the Clippers are really after Kenneth Faried, which I doubt.
If the Nuggets were to deal Gallinari, Barton and a future first round pick or their first rounder in 2016 I think a deal would be done.
Griffin and Faried would be a very weird big man combo though so the Nuggets would potentially insist that Faried be included in any trade in lieu of Danilo Gallinari.
This trade still doesn’t seem likely but would be a huge blockbuster. As a fan of the game, you have to love trade season in the NBA!
