The Sixers have suspended Jahlil Okafor for two games following the most recent fight video that surfaced today via TMZ. But that was just the icing on the cake. Since the season began, aside from the two fights, he was cited for driving 108 MPH and tried using a fake I.D.
Well, the Sixers apparently have had enough and are giving him these few games off to cool down. Here’s the official release from the team.
We have made the determination to suspend Jahlil Okafor for two games, effective immediately.
Jahlil is a very important part of our organization and our future. While we are disappointed with his recent actions, we have faith in him as a valued member of the Sixers. We will provide the necessary resources to support him on his journey and will do our part to help him succeed both on and off the court.
Sure, he has made some mistakes but he’s 19 years old with millions of dollars.
