The Bulls have been the sexy pick out East for quite some time now, but that appears to be vanishing with each passing year. Slowly, core guys like Luol Deng leave, Derrick Rose sustains major injuries, and coaches turnover. And who can forget Derrick Rose telling Bulls media during Media Day that he’s “preparing” for free agency.
Well, so is Pau Gasol. The big man told media last night after a double-double vs. the Nuggets that he plans on testing the waters next summer. Will this effectively end the Bulls as we know them?
Gasol told CSNChicago.com Wednesday night after his 26-point, 19-rebound, four-block and three-assist performance against the Denver Nuggets that it’s “very likely” he’ll opt-out of his contract this summer and test the market.
“As long as I keep playing like this,” Gasol said. “I know I’ll have some options.”
