As an athlete, it’s paramount to believe in yourself and your team. Because if you don’t, who will? That’s the motto that Tyreke Evans lives by apparently. The former rookie of the years sounds very confident in his New Orleans Hornets and considers them right up there with the defending champion Warriors. Ironically, New Orleans was swept by Golden State in the first round you have to admire Evans’ state of mind. Right?
“I don’t see why we can’t do it,” Evans said. “We have a great team. I don’t see our team any different from the Warriors. I think we’re right there, even though this is going to be our first year with coach (Alvin) Gentry. If we push each other and work hard, we can make that next step. It’s not going to be easy, but I think we have that chance.”
