John Wall Has Non-Displaced Fractures in Hand, Wrist

walljohnhandhJohn Wall is something of a dinosaur. He’s his team’s best player, a point guard and a willing passer. Nowadays in the NBA, the point guard is largely shoot-first but Wall can take over a game by being a a distributor. Another thing of note about Wall is that he goes full speed at all times.

That was to his detriment in game 1 vs. the Hawks, as he landed awkwardly in the first half of that game and grabbed his left wrist, the team announced. He remained in the game, but did not play in game 2. The team has just announced that he has five non-displaced fractures in that wrist and hand, which makes his playoff future murky. It’s a shame, but the Wizards probably would’ve gotten by Atlanta with a healthy unit.

Per the Wizards:

Wizards guard John Wall underwent multiple examinations yesterday that revealed five non-displaced fractures in his left wrist and hand.

Wall and the team are currently in consultation with multiple physicians and specialists to determine the best course of action and his playing status has yet to be determined.  Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
