Byron Scott: Jason Kidd Was Known as an A-Hole

scottkiddIf you can recall, Byron Scott was the head coach of the New Jersey Nets in the early 2000s and he was the man who led the squad to back-to-back Finals appearances. Jason Kidd, of course, was the leader of that team and was reportedly the reason why Scott was ultimately fired.

More than a decade later, the two still do not see eye to eye and Byron Scott doesn’t sound like he’s losing any sleep over it.

Jason Kidd will coach against his former coach Byron Scott for the first time Wednesday when the Bucks take on the Lakers. Scott took a moment Wednesday to reminisce about Kidd.

“He was kind of known as an a–hole,” Scott said, according to Bill Oram of the Orange County Register.

Rumor has it Kidd was the one who forced Scott out of New Jersey in 2004, but Scott wouldn’t confirm whether that’s true.

“That’s all I’ve heard,” Scott said. “Now, did he actually go talk to Rod Thorn and all those guys? I don’t know. I never got that story. I always said, though, where there’s smoke there fire.”
