Charlotte Hornets general manager Rich Cho announced today the signing of veteran power forward Jason Maxiell. And now, the training camp roster stands at 18.
Maxiell, 31, played for the Orlando Magic last season and tallied 3.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game under 14.4 minutes. His freakish leaping ability and physical strength allows him to be a major presence in the paint by relentlessly grabbing rebounds and blocking shots as much as he can.
Now with a new team—he’ll have another opportunity to raise up his worth and hopefully find a home in Charlotte.
Throughout his 9-year-career, he’s averaged 5.9 points and 4.3 rebounds a game while shooting .501 from the field.
