It’s official: the Pacers have lost their way. Many complain that the regular season is too long, but I beg to differ. One of the benefits of having an 82-game campaign is to smoke out the players and teams that can’t hack the grind. Is this the case with the Pacers?
Roy Hibbert has been very vocal lately about the problems surrounding the Pacers. He wants the ball more, but then again, he grabs 5 boards some nights. Can’t have it both ways. Last night vs. the Hawks, Frank Vogel sat Hibbert during the second half. In fact, Vogel sat the big man mid-way through the second quarter because he had zero points and boards up until that point. He never saw the court again.
Vogel claims he was “resting” Hibbert.
“I considered resting Roy before tonight’s game because he looks worn down, he’s a 7-2 player that’s played every game this year, which is very rare,” Vogel said. “He looks to me to be worn down. He’s giving good effort, but he looks to me to be worn down.”
Roy doesn’t see it that way
“I got nothing to say,” Hibbert muttered.
