The NBA Playoffs are about a month away so the time is ripe for Nike to unveil the updated versions of their premiere signature sneakers for the post season. Take a look at what Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and (possibly) Kobe Bryant will be wearing as part of the 2014 Nike Elite Team sneaker series.
Kevin Durant’s Nike KD 6 Elite Team strips down the original version by having more mesh in the upper for added breath-ability and pairs Kevlar-reinforced Dynamic Flywire cables for strength. This is the first Nike KD sneaker to have full-length Zoom Air cushioning.
LeBron James’ Nike LeBron 11 Elite Team features an updated shape from the problematic first version of the shoe worn sparingly by James throughout the first months of this NBA season. The Zoom Air unit changed positioning to be bottom-loaded to provide a lower ride for better court feel.
Despite no confirmation of Kobe Bryant playing in the NBA Playoffs this season, his Nike Kobe 9 Elite Team is the most unique pair of the trio by going against the usual low top design the Nike Kobe series has featured for the last few years. The first Flyknit basketball sneaker sits atop of a sole made from Lunarlon foam. Carbon fiber counters to prevent in-shoe foot movements are just an added bonus
The 2014 Nike Basketball Elite Team series releases on April 11th comprised of the Nike LeBron XI (11) Elite, Nike KD VI (6) Elite, and Nike Kobe IX (9) Elite.
