Allen Iverson Once Paid A Ballboy $2,000 To Go On A Beer Run

Even though he hasn’t played in the NBA for nearly 3 seasons now, former NBA superstar Allen Iverson continues to be in the news, and not always for the right reasons.

Despite many people reminiscing about A.I.’s recently announced official retirement just a few weeks ago, his constant struggles with alcoholism, bankruptcy, and child support issues have plagued the former 4 time NBA scoring champion as he has yet to find his way following his post playing career.

His most recent predicament involves late child support payments as his former wife Tawanna has forced the former league MVP back into court numerous times, in an attempt to recover back payments for their 5 children.

Although Allen narrowly avoided jail time for getting behind by a reported $40,000 in August, he was forced back into court again in early September, as his wife now is seeking more than $1.2 million in future payments, now that Reebok has re-issued his once popular “Answer” line of basketball shoes and apparel.

Now for all of the highlight reel plays Allen has blessed us with over the years, I think it’s also safe to say that he wasn’t exactly the perfect role model for our children, considering his constant squabbles with coaches and well chronicled late night gambling and partying over his career.

But one such example has surfaced recently as former Boston Celtics ball boy and Sports Illustrated writer Chris Mannix revealed a detailed account of Iverson once giving him $2,000 to buy him beer for the bus ride home to Philly, following the 76ers being eliminated from the 2002 NBA Playoffs…….
