Watch: Dirk Nowitzki’s “Guess What Day It Is?” Geico Parody

What day is it……..What day is it?  Surely everyone’s ears are ringing after being forced to watch Geico’s amusing commercial featuring a camel walking through the office on Wednesday, annoyingly chanting trying to get everyone excited about “Hump Day.”

The first few times it was funny, even though I prefer their Dikembe Mutombo commercial from last year, but after witnessing the advertisement for car insurance run nearly every commercial break while watching my favorite show, it’s become tiring, boring, and even a tad nauseating seeing an arrogant camel shout “What, What.”

While not intending to get the Gieco Gecko upset, infringing into his usual territory, the Dallas Mavericks have decide to insert 11 time NBA All Star Dirk Nowitzki into the role of the camel in the “Guess What Day It Is” skit, as he gets excited before every gameday.

It’s just part of another ingenious marketing campaign that the Mavericks have dreamed up in an attempt to both entertain the fans and sell tickets.

Following winning the 2011 NBA Championship, the Mavs have swung and missed on a number of top free agents like Deron Williams, Chris Paul, and Dwight Howard, but are steadfast in rebuilding around Nowitzki, who although may go down as the best International player of all time, has been injured the past 2 seasons and is now 35 years old.

So even though the Mavs may be hard pressed to make a late Playoff run, they definitely have eone of the best PR staffs in the NBA, as evidence of Dirk’s new “Guess What Day It Is” Geico parody…
