It seems as if the talent in scholastic basketball keeps getting better and better deeper into the younger ranks as time goes on.
I remember not being able to dunk until 10th grade, as even some of today’s top NBA players like Vince Carter, Drew Gooden, and Jason Kidd were well into the HS ranks before being able to palm a basketball.
Of course there are some exceptions like Tyson Chandler and Demar Derozan that were dunking on opponents in Middle School. If I’m not mistaken, Derozan once revealed that he threw down his first official flush in the 6th grade.
We all can dream, but one fast rising 7th grader named William Dillard is turning dunking into an art form at a young age, as he recently threw down an in game windmill jam that would make Dominique Wilkins proud.
At the recent CP3 Rising Stars National Event held in North Carolina, the already 6’3 Willard, was one of the standout performers, bringing both players and fans in attendance to their feet with his amazing dunking prowess at such a young age.
Willard, as well as the nation’s #1 ranked 7th grader Marvin Bagley both showed out at the event and have future stars written all over them.
