Rockets’ Terrence Jones Arrested For Kicking Homeless Man

People with a lot of money do boneheaded things, but the Rockets’ Terrence Jones may have raised the bar. This also brings light to a relatively quiet offseason for the NBA, in terms of guys getting in trouble.

Jones was recently arrested for allegedly kicking a homeless man sleeping on the street. Why? Just because it was a Wednesday, I suppose. Jones was probably trying to get a rise out of friends, but it’s a silly, disrespectful thing to do and deserves what ever he has coming his way.

Terrence Jones, a former Jefferson High School star and current Houston Rockets player, was arrested in Portland at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday after police said he yelled at a homeless man and stomped on his leg.

Jones was charged with harassment and pleaded not guilty during a court appearance Wednesday afternoon.

While watching a group of people walk away from a club called Tube, a Portland police sergeant saw Jones walk by a doorway where two homeless men were sleeping, according to police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson.

The sergeant said Jones yelled, “Wake up,” then raised his leg and stomped down on one of the man’s legs. The men were sleeping in the doorway of 114 Northwest 3rd Avenue.
