Watch: BallUp Newcomer G-Smith With “Dunk of the Summer”

Streetball has long been the stepbrother of true hardwood basketball as many perceive the art form as an all flash and no fundamental style of hoops.

But in fact the opposite is completely true as many of streetball’s top performers currently and in years past have been standout NCAA and NBA stars like Rafer “Skip 2 My Lou” Alston, Jason Williams, and even the great Allen Iverson more recently have taken part in a streetball Legends Tour in China.

While some players appear to push the boundaries of traveling and palming the rock, it is without a doubt an exciting brand of basketball.

Following in the footsteps of the original streetball pioneers of the And1 Mixtape Tour that had their own show on ESPN back in the day, is BallUp, the modern day version that is broadcast of the Fox Sports Network.

Where the And1 Tour featured household names like Hot Sauce, Escalade, and Shane the Dribbling Machine, BallUp has their own version of streetball superstars like the 5’10 “Professor”, dunking sensation “Air Up There”, Baby Shaq, Pat Da Roc, and Sik Wit It.

But starting in the 2013 season, BallUp has a new feature dunker in the form of 6’6 Gary Smith, better known as simply  “G Smith.”

Smith earned a contract with BallUp after showing out against the regular roster of All Stars during the latter parts of the 2012 season.

Roughly 3 weeks ago, G Smith made his official debut with the BallUp crew on a stop in Kansas City with roaring reviews as his highlight reel, facial dunk to end the game is being deemed the dunk of the Summer….
