Denver’s Andre Iguodala is one of the summer’s most sought after free agents because of his versatility and athleticism, and is drawing interest from many teams. The Sacramento Kings have offered Iggy a 4-year deal that would pay him $52M. But because he didn’t commit right away, the Kings have pulled that offer.
Not sure what the Kings were thinking here. It’d be in their best interest to perhaps wait a little longer than a day or two, because they could really use his services.
The Kings wanted an answer from Iguodala, who was still considering returning to Denver while also being pursued by the likes of Detroit and others. When Iguodala wasn’t prepared to give the answer quick enough for the Kings’ liking, they made the calculated decision to go a different direction. What direction that is however, wasn’t immediately clear.
