For more than a decade, we’ve come to grow most familiar with Kenny Smith by way of his NBA analysis on TNT’s coverage of the NBA. However, for the past couple of years, he and the crew have done the NCAA tournament as well.
By way of him working the NCAA tournament, Kenny has teamed up with POWERADE to provide a great message. While in Atlanta for the Final Four, Smith was a supporter of POWERADE’s National 3V3 Tournament. Yesterday, Kenny delivered a “power through” message to Louisville and Michigan, and will be starting the game with tipoff.
As the official drink of the NCAA, POWERADE looks to connect young people to the tournament and its “upset dynamic” to show them what they can achieve through hard work and believing in themselves.
On behalf of The Hoop Doctors, I had the chance to chat with Kenny prior to all of this to find out what his POWERADE “Power Through” mentality means to him in context of the Final Four. I also picked his brain about some of his best moments of TNT’s Inside the NBA, college analysis vs. NBA analysis, and his reaction to Doug Gottlieb’s joke on-set a few weeks ago.
