Whenever there’s an NBA head coaching vacancy, it has become a given to hear Phil Jackson’s name rumored. Not necessarily because he’s interested in said job, but because that team undoubtedly is interested in him.
But here’s a twist. How about the Zen Master as a general manager?
Phil may be interested in returning to the NBA in a front office role. He sounds somewhat interested and what team wouldn’t want Phil in this role?
Sources close to Phil Jackson have been fueling rumors that Jackson wants to return to the NBA as a head coach or team executive.
“I’ve had some talks with people,” Jackson said, “and there are some interesting situations that are presenting themselves, but I really haven’t made up my mind yet what I’m going to do. None of it involves coaching. … There are three or four teams that have been interested.”
