Do you remember when Air Jordans all came with Nike Air written somewhere on them?
It is the dream of many new sneakerheads to have a Air Jordan stamped with NIKE AIR the way the original releases were and tomorrow, February 6th, that will be possible for those able to get their hands on the ‘White Cement’ Air Jordan III Retro ’88.
The Air Jordan III returns once again in its white cement colorway with the fabled NIKE AIR stamp on the back heel panel. In honor of Michael Jordan’s victory in the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest, the same colorway he wore back then. At the time of posting, these will only be for sale online thru Nike Store, Finish Line, and Eastbay.
Until the Air Jordan VII, there was always Nike branding somewhere visible on the outside of every Air Jordan sneaker. After winning back-to-back NBA championships, all the pieces were in place to create the Jordan Brand; a company unto itself for Michael Jordan in partnership with Nike.
Sneaker enthusiasts have searched for deadstock pairs of the original Jordan III from 2001 with NIKE AIR branded on the back since the majority of the original Air Jordan III pairs from 1988 aren’t in wearable condition.
Both adult and GS (grade school) sizes of the ‘White Cement’ Air Jordan III Retro ’88 will be available for sale tomorrow priced at $200 and $120 respectively.
