In similar fashion to former NBA star Stephon Marbury, 7 time NBA All Star Tracy McGrady has taken his talents to China to play for the Quingdao Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association.
In what appears on the surface to be a resurrection of a once surefire NBA Hall of Fame career that was cut short due to injuries back in the states, has been a mixed bag for T-Mac as he has put up some eye-popping individual stats but has suffered through tremendous amount of losing (3-17 team record) and continuous squabbles with opposing players, officials, and the CBL brass.
Just last week, McGrady was suspended 1 game for criticizing CBL officials calling them the “3 Blind Mice” and was caught on film elbowing an opposing player that taunted T-Mac with a vintage Dikembe Mutombo finger wag immediately after draining a 3 pointer.
McGrady and Marbury have both been openly critical of the subpar officiating overseas but that hasn’t stopped McGrady from dazzling the fans in China, regularly dropping 30+ points each game and is among the CBL leaders in assists per contest.
Always the crowd pleaser, check out T-Mac pulling off a reverse 360 jam, once made popular by his cousin Vince Carter, while warming up prior to a recent game…
