On November 12th in NYC, Footlocker held a party for members of the media celebrating next week’s Week of Greatness event; the most packed release week of the year for kicks. A wide variety of sneakers hit store shelves and anticipated releases are literally dropping every day. Besides the open bar, there were screens set up for attendees to play the new NBA2K13 and a lot of the upcoming releases were also on display, serving as an aesthetic reminder that Footlocker was in the building.
Aside from previewing some of the more sought-after releases from next week like the Nike Foamposite One – ‘Polarized Pink’ and adidas Rose 3 – ’90s Throwback’, a screening for a new Footlocker commercial was held that night staring Cleveland Cavalier PG and 2011 Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving. After arriving, snapping pictures with what looked to be contest winners, and having an early look at the commercial with those in attendance, Irving took some time out of his busy evening to sit down and speak with The Hoop Doctors crew.
