The New York Knicks were up by 21 points in the first quarter against the league leading Chicago Bulls yesterday. Even though the Bulls had Derrick Rose back, at that point most would have thought the Knicks were set to cruise in for the victory they so desperately needed to solidify their chances at the post-season. Although they were still holding on to a lead at half-time, they found themselves down by double digits in the fourth quarter.
With Jeremy Lin and Amare Stoudemire out for the foreseeable future, the Knicks scoring load has fallen on Carmelo Anthony. Yesterday he rose to the challenge and then some by not only scoring 43 points, but more importantly hitting a three pointer to send the game into overtime, then hitting the game winning three pointer in overtime!
