After future NBA Lottery pick Derrick Williams helped lead the Arizona Wildcats to an impressive 30-8 record and an Elite Eight finish last season, and even though coach Sean Miller was able to secure a Top 10 ranked recruiting class heading into this year, the Wildcats have struggled a bit this season, and are probably going to have to win out in the PAC-12 Tournament to make a 2nd consecutive trip to the Big Dance.
But never fear Wildcat fans as Miller has reeled in arguably the top rated recruiting class for the 2012-2013 season, featuring four players ranked among the Top 40 players in the nation, highlighted by big men Brandon Ashley, Grant Jerrett, and Kaleb Tarczewski, along with one of the best perimeter scorers in all of the high school ranks in shooting guard Gabe York.
York is a 6’2 and 180 lb highlight reel performer that plays for Orange Lutheran HS, located in Southern California. He and his high school teammates have some newfound celebrity as they star in their very own web series titled “Brotherhood” in their quest to win a Cali State Title. He is already a veteran of the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Game and undoubtedly was one of the biggest snubs left off of this year’s McDonald’s All American Game rosters.
Gabe has developed a reputation as being one of the most fearless competitors on any level of basketball and has become an internet sensation for showing a penchant for some insane hops and for continually posterizing defenders.
Case in point, this amazing alley-oop he finished off by leaping clear over a defender to flush home an oop in an opening round game of the CIF basketball playoffs…
