Under Armour Bloodline x Sole Collector

January 3, 2012 – Ben Berry

Under Armour’s basketball division continues to gather attention to Brandon Jennings’ current signature sneaker, the Micro G Bloodline, with exclusive colorways and inspiration for this one came from a major sneaker media presence in Sole Collector.

This special SMU tells the story of Sole Collector from their magazine launch in 2003 through the lineage of various Creative Directors and Managing Editors. Vibrant Blue makes up the color of the back half and strap of the sneaker with white finishing off the toe and neon accents are seen on the stitching, laces, and lining. Where the Under Armour logo normally sits is Sole Collector’s trademark block S symbol and beneath the translucent sole you see the Sole Collector logo.

This pair would have been right at home at the Bloodline release party where multiple unreleased pairs were on display.

Brandon Jennings second sneaker, the Micro G Bloodline, was easily one of the best basketball sneakers of 2011 and despite creating colorway after colorway after colorway, the flagship Under Armour Basketball sneaker still went under the radar.

With UA Basketball’s starting five finally hard at work, the reach Under Armour will have in the basketball market can’t help but expand. During the ’11-’12 NBA season opener on Christmas day, Marquis Daniels from the Boston Celtics laced up the ‘Rowley Park’ Bloodline making him the first player during the regular season to rock the Micro G-cushioned silhouette.

All the pieces are in play at Under Armour, so I expect big things from this company in 2012.
