Isiah Thomas Opens Up About the Knicks and Magic Johnson

If you never heard of Isiah Thomas and your first exposure to him was simply listening to him speak, you would probably think that he was the nicest, most amicable person on Earth. Zeke has a very easy way about him and he seldom leaves home without his patented ear-to-ear smile. Ostensibly, it’s tough to imagine that anyone could have a problem with him. But as we know, such is not the case. Whether right, wrong or indifferent, Isiah is disliked by many but could it simply just be because he’s misunderstood? Perhaps.

Yesterday, Isiah was a guest on “Dan LeBatard is Highly Questionable” on ESPN where he opened up about many things. Although Dan did ask questions about Isiah’s tenure in New York, I thought he would’ve gone in on that topic a bit more. But he did get Zeke to acknowledge that he is hurt by some of the things that have been written and said about him when he was with the Knicks. He also shared his thoughts about Magic Johnson. The two used to be very close, even famously exchanging a kiss on the cheek on the court prior to the opening tip of the 1989 Finals.

But, Magic Johnson released a book some time ago where he expressed his true feelings about Isiah, much to Thomas’ dismay. Especially when he learned that Magic possibly played a role in keeping him off of the Dream Team. It was Isiah as candid as he could be:
