Coming off having being on the team with that finished with the best regular season record, Derrick Rose held a secret exhibition event called Run With Rose this weekend past. The event also served as a chance for D Rose to introduce his latest signature shoe, the adiZero Rose 2, to his hometown of Chicago and was onhand to take pictures and sign pairs (jealous!). Rose’s dislike for pickup games is most likely the reason that you haven’t seen him compete in any of the Goodman, Drew, or Melo league games this past summer. This event was the first chance many got to see The Bull hit the hardwood, outside of those who saw him in China, since last season’s NBA Playoffs when the Chicago Bulls lost to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Chicago-native Common was on hand at the event and even was spit a few bars about Derrick Rose and the event in his hometown. Not only did the crowd get to see Common’s lyrical skills, but also go to see him get a couple of shots up while guarded by Rose.
Derrick Rose heads to Hawaii on October 23rd along with several other NBA stars to host the Hoops For Troops event.
