5’10 Pierre Jackson Shuts Down Baylor Dunk Contest

October 17, 2011 – Allen Moll

If you haven’t yet heard of Baylor’s newest point guard Pierre Jackson, everyone will definitely take notice of the rather diminutive play-making floor general after winning the dunk contest at the Baylor’s Moonlight Madness.

Jackson was a great find for coach Scott Drew who scooped the #1 rated PG prospect from the JUCO ranks, playing at the tiny College of Southern Idaho. He fills a definite void in the backcourt that has been sorely missing since the departure of Tweety Carter to graduation two seasons ago.

Pierre is a flashy, highlight reel player whose main priority during the upcoming season will be feeding the rock to an imposing frontcourt featuring future NBA Lottery pick Perry Jones III, Quincy Acy, J’mison Morgan, and Anthony Jones, along with the sharpshooting Brady Heislip from the perimeter.

With the addition of a highly touted recruiting class including Top 10 rated forward Quincy Miller and swingman Deuce Bello, widely considered the HS ranks’ best dunker and Baylor is being considered by many as a pre-season Top 10 squad capable of challenging for a National Championship.

Jackson showcased an amazing amount of ups and flash that helped him earn a victory over prized incoming freshman Deuce Bello and Perry Jones, with former alumni Ekpe Udoh and womens hoops star Brittney Griner as judges.
