Duke’s Rather Annoying Bobblehead Video “Big Heads”

October 25, 2011 – Allen Moll

Is there any question that the Duke University Basketball program is the most hated hoops squad in all of college basketball? Maybe it’s all of the winning, Dick Vitale’s love affair with Coach K, or the seemingly squeaky clean recruits that parade from Cameron Indoor to the NBA on a yearly basis, but undeniably the Blue Devils have become the NCAA’s version of the Yankees “evil empire” in baseball.

Coach Mike Krzyzewski’s needing only 2 wins to tie Bob Knight as the all-time Division I wins leader and netting #1 overall HS recruit Austin Rivers to help replace the offensive production of the now departed Kyle Singler, Nolan Smith, and #1 overall draft pick Kyrie Irving, are obviously the top stories heading into the 2011-2012 season.

Last month, the team went on a hoops journey to China in preparation for the upcoming season. As a result, Coach K learned that he can rely heavily on juniors Ryan Kelly, Seth Curry, and Andre Dawkins until highly touted underclassmen Rivers, Michael Gbinijie, Quinn Cook, Marshall Plumlee, and Alex Murphy can get up to speed.

It also seems that something odd and cheesy occurs off the court surrounding each year’s Blue Devils squad, like their “2010 Rap Anthem” and the 2 part  Kyle Gets Buckets trick shot series made by then senior Kyle Singler.

This year is no different as the team already made their own rap video titled “Duke Worldwide” before creating a rather un-watchable bobblehead video called “Big Heads.” Watch and enjoy(or throw up a little in your mouth).
