Official Drew vs Goodman League Challenge Promo

August 9, 2011 – Allen Moll

It’s the dream match-up of the Summer. With a seemingly unending stream of NBA players flocking to the nation’s best Summer leagues and Pro-Ams to hone their skills during the Lockout, it was inevitable that players from both the Goodman League from DC, and the Drew League in LA square off against one another.

No word as of yet as to whether any big time networks(ESPN anyone?) will pick up the game but we do know that the event will take place on August 20th at Washington D.C.’s Trinity University, and that you can watch it streaming live on the web at TheBasketballChannel.net for $4.99.

The star-studded rosters have already been released and are highlighted by Kevin Durant, John Wall, and Tyreke Evans for the Goodman and Brandon Jennings, James Harden, and Nick Young repping The Drew.

On the surface, it appears that the Goodman has a clear advantage on paper but keep in mind that the Drew may still add upwards of 3 players to round out their roster. It might tip the scales a bit towards the Drew if they could convince Lebron James to join the roster, especially after he served up a windmill in league action just last week.

The event has already been dubbed “Capital Punishment” and should easily be the most entertaining, star studded basketball event we’ll bear witness to this Summer.

Who ya got, Goodman or the Drew?
