No, it isn’t a misprint, a recycled bit, or a Vintage Video featuring T-Mac with the Magic. Not to be disrespectful, but who knew that former 7 time All Star, Tracy McGrady still had enough juice left in his surgically repaired knees to still serve up posterizing dunks?
Things haven’t quite gone as planned for Tracy, now in his 14th NBA season with the Pistons. During this past off-season, T-Mac claimed to be as healthy as he’s been in years and succeeded in securing a deal to play in Detroit after being traded from Houston to the NY Knicks last season.
But after the career 21 ppg scorer could only provide the Knicks with 9.4 points of offensive output and is only scoring at a 4 ppg clip this season, it sure looked like the end was certainly near for the 2 time scoring champ. Some even began to question if Tracy McGrady had anything left in the tank.
To make matters worse, his production has been down across the board, averaging career lows in 3 PT%(.154%), FT%(.556%), and minutes played(16:30). In fact, T-Mac has only scored in double figures in 3 games all season and has been held scoreless in another 3 contests.
Although it has been painful to watch one of the game’s most exciting and game-changing players over the past decade struggle to regain his form, it makes us all reminisce about the good old days when T-Mac used to serve up poster dunks on the regular. Now it’s few and far between when Tracy does this…….
