The internet is all a buzz with the latest news/rumor out of the Spurs camp that Eva Longoria has filed for divorce from San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker. The story behind the situation is something sensational enough to be scripted for Longoria’s ABC show Desperate Housewives. Most of the day there was speculation that Tony Parker had cheated on Longoria with a Spurs teammate’s wife. Seriously. Here is what CBS News had today on the situation:
The woman’s identity wasn’t revealed, nor was the name of the teammate. Longoria also told Lopez that that her now-estranged husband cheated on her earlier in their three-year marriage with a different woman, whom he kept in touch with on Facebook.
“She is devastated, she wants us all to know that,” Lopez said. “But she’s strong.”
Us Weekly reported that Longoria is “heartbroken” by the revelations, and that Parker, 28, confessed to the inappropriateness – which took place for nearly a year – after she confronted him.
Another friend added, “Once the trust was lost, the marriage was over.”
Longoria, 35, is “inconsolable” over the revelations, according to the report.
“Eva truly thought she was going to grow old with Tony and have children with him,” adds the pal. “She’s inconsolable.” (via CBS News)
But news is now breaking on who this mystery teammate and wife are that Tony Parker cheated on Longoria with. And it’s not exactly a teammate, but an ‘ex-teammate’, and now likely an ex-friend as well.
Rumor has it that Parker has been having an affair for the last year with former Spurs guard and sharpshooter Brent Barry’s wife, Erin Barry.
Brent Barry (also son of NBA Legend Rick Barry) and wife Erin have been separated recently after Erin had filed for divorce and moved out of their house, but it looks as if this news of her relationship with former teammate Tony Parker is a total surprise to Brent.
You’ve got to feel bad for Brent, as it must be hard enough to find out your wife is having an affair, but to find out it is with a former teammate and personal friend must be a lot to handle.
