Playoffs
Eastern Conference Finals: The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Milwaukee Bucks in seven games to advance to the NBA Finals. Throughout the series, Milwaukee players and coaches complained the referees were making bad calls against them because the NBA did not want a small market team playing in the Finals.
Western Conference Finals: The Los Angeles Lakers swept the San Antonio Spurs in four games to advance to the NBA Finals for the second straight season. The Lakers swept all three of their Western Conference playoff opponents that season. The team entered the Finals with a perfect 11-0 playoff record.
NBA Finals: After a stunning game 1 loss to the 76ers, the Lakers bounced back and won the next four games to capture back to back NBA championships. The game 1 loss to Philadelphia was the only playoff loss for the Lakers. The Lakers finished the postseason with the best playoff winning percentage in league history.
