No that title is not a typo. For the first time in 28 years since Moses Malone did it in 1982, an NBA player has put up a massive 30+ points and 30+ rebounds in one single game. In fact, until Kevin Love went off for 31 points and 31 rebounds last night, no player has even had more than 30 rebounds in a single game since Charles Barkely did it in 1996.
For a game that is more and more frequently dominated by point guards, shooting guards and swingmen, it is wonderful to see a big like Kevin Love go off in this way. Although Love told The Hoop Doctors this summer he was sad to see his old teammate Al Jefferson leave town, he may change his mind quickly if he keeps getting this kind of shine for yanking all of the boards himself.
