Rising junior Shaquille Johnson still isn’t a houshold name outside of recruiting analysts at ESPN and high school hoops junkies like myself. But that won’t last too long if he keeps winning dunk contests and jumping clear over 6‘8 teammates.
He’s been getting a lot of buzz lately since he has been one of the rising stars on the AAU circuit this Summer, showing scouts that he has worked hard to improve his jumper, making him more than just one of the nation’s best finishers.
Even though the Auburn commit stands at only 6’4 heading into his junior season at Milton HS in Alpharetta, Georgia, he regularly gets the better of taller opponents in AAU competition mostly because of an outstanding vertical leap.
Because of his penchant for posterizing defenders and highlight reel dunks, many have already considered Johnson to be the high school ranks’ best dunker.
