Could Carlos Boozer Return To The NBA?

Not that long ago Carlos Boozer was one of the most coveted free agents on the market and a guy worthy of a $100 million NBA contract in 2010.

Times have changed and the former two-time NBA All-Star has been out of the NBA since a forgettable stint with the Los Angeles Lakers ended in 2015.

Most have probably forgotten about Boozer or figured he may be a sportscaster somewhere or relaxing and enjoying his post-career life, but he is actually a key contributor and star for one of the best teams in the increasingly competitive Chinese Basketball Association.

He is averaging 17 and 11 for Guangdong Southern Tigers and they are vying for the Chinese Basketball Association championship.

Boozer is still only 35 and his recent play and ability to clean up the glass and add some interior scoring mean that he could potentially get one more crack at the NBA before riding off into the sunset.

It will be interesting to see if a team is able to add him for depth for the stretch run or if he is a free agent that garners some interest this off-season.

As a fun side-note for fellow basketball junkies, take a few minutes to look at the league leaders for the CBA, it is full of former NBA players or college studs such as Jimmer Freddette, Josh Smith, MarShon Brooks, DeJuan Blair and J.J Hickson to name a few.
