Following his second DUI charge this calendar year, a few months ago, Ty Lawson was ordered by a judge to enter a rehab program for drinking. While all of this was going on, the Nuggets traded Lawson to Houston.
Now that he’s in a new situation, he has the time to reflect on his off-the-court issues and during Rockets Media Day, he shared that he probably wouldn’t have to gone to rehab if it wasn’t court-ordered.
“Lawson learned “what triggers are” and “what forces someone to drink,” but says this on his public and private problems with alcohol: “I still honestly don’t think I would’ve had to go in there if it wasn’t court ordered. I just made two dumb mistakes. But I did take things from the [rehabilitation facility].”
