The Rest of the NBA Can Have Their Superteams; John Wall is Fine Rolling with Bradley Beal

Have fun with your Big Four of Steven Adams, Carmelo Anthony, Paul George and Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder.

Enjoy whatever a LeBron James-Kevin Love-Dwyane Wade-Isaiah Thomas foursome should be called, Cleveland Cavaliers.

Keep on keeping on with your collection of four All-NBA players, Golden State Warriors.

John Wall doesn’t care. He doesn’t need that much star power around him. He’s just fine rolling with Bradley Beal, as he made clear on Twitter:

So, like, this is kind of a weird thing to say—not just because Wall leaves out Otto Porter, who, with a max contract, theoretically completes the Washington Wizards’ Big Three, but because he comes off as hypocritical.

Remember: Wall openly admitted to The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears he was recruiting George to come play in Washington before the Indiana Pacers sent him to Oklahoma City. And he once again did so at the apparent expense of Porter:

Porter is no superstar, but he’s arguably the Wizards’ second-most important player, ahead of Beal, because of the switchability he brings on the defensive end. To downplay his importance while recruiting George was weird. So, too, is leaving him off this Instagram post.

Granted, Wall probably means nothing by it—not this time at least. This seems like a genuine attempt to prop up the product he has around him in Washington. The delivery just isn’t great. Nor is the timing, given that Wall is only weeks removed from trying to forge his own superteam.
