Dirk Nowitzki cares not for Father Time’s undefeated record.
On Tuesday night, with the Dallas Mavericks hosting the Los Angeles Lakers, the 38-year-old found himself 20 points shy of joining the 30,000-point club. Not only did he score 25 points, but he came out of the gate on fire, hitting his first six shots while dropping in 18 points through the first quarter alone.
Here’s that bucket that got him to 30,000:

But this isn’t even the coolest part of the night. No, no, no.
Afterward, Nowitzki drank a Bud Light and then talked about it, because he’s the freaking best person alive:

Solid, celebrating Dirk.
Nowitzki isn’t necessarily done climbing the scorer’s ladder. The fifth-place Wilt Chamberlain has a 1,414-point lead on the German—a gap Nowitzki will erase if he remains healthy and returns for next season, as we all expect him to.
Correct, we may not even been done celebrating the legend that is Dirk.
What I’m trying to say is, keep some cases of Bud Light handy. You’re going to need to shotgun one or 20 more in Dirk’s honor over the next year or so.
