The Pistons are doing their best to pay homage to players for their championship caliber run from 2003 to 2008.

They retired undersized, defensive and rebounding extraordinaire and fan favorite Ben Wallace in January and now they will be retiring “Mr. Big Shot” Chauncey Billups’ no. 3 jersey tonight.

The Pistons played their best game of the season, dismantling the now 47-4 Golden State Warriors on January 16, when they retired Ben Wallace’s jersey.

Billups played eight seasons in total for the Pistons, including his final season in 2013-14 and averaged 17 points, six assists and three rebounds per game.

He also made four all-star appearances and three All-NBA appearances in a Pistons uniform. He won the NBA Finals MVP in 2004 when he lead the Pistons to a title by dominating the juggernaut Los Angeles Lakers team featuring Shaq, Kobe, Karl Malone and Gary Payton.

Billups was known for his toughness, leadership and ability to knock down a big shot.

The Pistons will host the Nuggets tonight.
